Default 1998 Gs400 refresh

Bought used...nice car,tired engine!.2k 4000 miles later,now going in for a complete rebuild.its going to be nice...300hp of Fresh 0 mile engine 😄👍✌️Out

what are you getting done? new pistons, seals, etc?

42 to 4700 plus around 1500 to have it taken out and put back in

I'm interested to hear why you chose to go with rebuilding the engine completely? Used 1UZ engines with low miles from Japan are pretty cheap.

correct you can pick up an engine and tranny on eBay for under $1500

You can get the GS400 1UZ's for a grand in the states 1500 with the tranny ,reason being is because theirs not really a lot of demand for them since they rarely go bad


I would go with the tranny/engine combo if there sold bolted together and get the lowest mileage one you can find.

Funny thing due to the demand a used ford exploder motor cost more then a 1UZ, go figure huh

checked jap low miles,no on hands.checked some other places around states...background check says not reliable.still checking with other sources before i go with full rebuild

For 5 grand around here you can get a low mileage gte swap and have even more fun
