So I know there has to be a thread on this somewhere but my CL searches just confused me.

I am getting ready to put a GROM unit in my 03 gs 300. The tape deck has Theft Deterrent Design written on it. This one has the GPS unit so its not the standard radio.

1. How do I know if this model could have a radio code set? Some threads said something about a trapezoidal design not having a code, but I'm guessing that's the radio without the GPS.
2. If a code can be set on my radio, how do I determine if one was ever set?
3. If one was set, is there a way to determine it without going to the dealer? E.g. maybe all of them were set to 0000 at the factory or something.

I want to have a clear understanding of this before I switch my cd changer to the GROM unit.

As ThomasGS4 said, there's no code. "Theft deterrent design" refers to the proprietary shape of the radio and how it won't fit in anything other than a GS.
