The hard way: remove your front bumper and then remove your headlights.

The "easy" way: just twist the bulb cover counter-clockwise and pull it out.
This could be a PIA especially if you have long LED bulbs but it can be done. I've had to do it twice so far.

yea i have done the change from regular 194 wedge bulbs to longer 6 led bulbs, you can do it without removing the bumper the drivers side is a PIA, but just get someone with small hands to reach in and unlock them (i believe by pushing down) and wiggle it out, and reverse to put them in, i changed mine a few times but it stil sucks, the passenger side should be easy because there is nothing really blocking it.
good luck and remember be gentle on the drivers side cause the leds aren't that strong

No excuses, I've got big monkey hands and I installed 13 SMD bulbs in mine with minimal bleeding.

if you cant get your hands in there or dont have anyone around who can... you can actually remove the headlights without taking the whole bumper off. I've done it several times when I setup my LS430 retrofit. Takes about 10 minutes to remove the headlight.

Anyone looking here in the future the link is in the Sticky but I'll let you find it.

I'd think it's easier to just try and get the bulb there without removing the headlight.
FYI it is impossible to take off the headlights without removing the front bumper on Euro models.
But yeah, I guess this is about US models.

Touche Lutkis you are correct... I forgot about that when we discussed it during your retrofit. I had the same issue as OP because my LEDs where really long so I just waited till i was taking the headlight off to pop them in.

Anyone taking the headlights off without removing the whole bumper... you should tape off around the outter low beam section of the fender/bumper. There is a plastic prong that slides into the outer most part inside the fender and this is the only piece that could possibly cause any damage if you aren't paying attention.
