Default 9006 LED Bulb Style

I've noticed there's a difference in a couple LED bulbs I'm considering for replacing my fog lights. I'm wondering does it matter which one I choose? One is straight at the connection point & the other is angled.

The bottom one looks correct for 9006. I've never seen a 9006 with a base like the top photo. I have seen an H4 bulb with that style of base. I do not have the LED bulbs, but I've dealt with H4, 9005, and 9006 bulbs in the past. The bases of the bulbs usually are an indicator of what they are.

Ok, great. I'll go with the bottom one. Thanks.

That model of v-led bulbs only puts out 400 lumens of light, info from their website. That is half the output of a standard halogen light.

Now I'm undecided about my fog lights again thanks to zerohero . I do appreciate you pointing that out to me. The guy at http://www.v-leds.com said I'd be happy with the bulb, but with only 400 lumens...I don't know. I know the housing plays a part in the light output as well. He said you can't always go by lumens. I'm not sure how accurate that is though. I judge bulbs by lumens & kelvin rating.

After market LED will always be dimmer, the technolgy is just not there yet. If you want color and lumens, get a set of HIDs.

I don't want to convert my fog lights to HID, at least not right now. I just want to replace the bulbs with something that is close to my HID headlights in color & has good light output. I know installing a HID kit is the ultimate way to go, but I'm not interested in doing that yet. Bulb replacement only for now.

as far as i know whiter light doesn't help if the road is foggy, only yellow light will help =/

white light shoot out and it actually reflect the fog instead of though the fog

just for the look then you should go for HID

How about some PIAA 9006 Super Plasma GT-X? They sound pretty bright (5000k are what the specs read). I think our stock D4S bulbs (Headlights HID) are 4300k.... correct me if I'm wrong somebody.....

PIAA's website says this bulb gives "an exclusive purple color". I'm not big on purple tints. I'd take blue over purple. But it's 5000k & I thought you didn't hit purple till at least 7000k

I'm considering these just based off the description...
