Default seat memory settings

i'm sure there has already been a post about it, but i haven't had the luck of finding anything by searching... one day i was driving home while it was raining and my alternator died on me. we've since replaced the alternator, but since then, setting 1 of my seat memory buttons hasn't worked (but setting 2 does). Setting 1 is mine (because it's my daily) and setting 2 is my boyfriends-and he won't let me change his setting even though i drive it more . the height difference between us makes it obnoxious having to move the seat and mirrors back every time he changes the settings when he drives it.

fixes to the problem? any input is greatly appreciated.

oh and my switch to adjust my driver-side side mirror isn't working. the motor still works, just not the switch to control it. what need's to be replaced to fix that? the entire switch?

My $0.02:

Since you replaced the alternator, you had the batty disconnected, right? If not, try that and make sure the onboard electrics are truly discharged, by time or ....

I'm not trying to be funny, my honest answer to fixing the problem:

LOSE THE BOYFRIEND.

that's actually hilarious, i know you said not trying to be funny, but i just started laughing in the office at work and got dirty looks from all around me. thankfully it started working again, haha.

he has his own setting on the driver's side for when he drives the car (if we go out somewhere together, he refuses to ride shotgun unless if he has been drinking- even in my car.
i may be wrong, but i don't think i have memory settings on my passenger side. i'll have to check when i go to lunch

No Memory settings on the passenger side, I think what FLACO was saying was that for him to set the seat on the passenger side to his liking, since it's YOUR CAR...and driver's seat settings are for YOU since it's YOUR CAR..and if he don't like it he CAN WALK..lol

totally read that wrong. hah.
he's one of those that hates riding in the passenger seat, so if we go somewhere together, whether in my GS or his SC, he always drives - unless drinking, like i said before. can't really complain, too much. if it weren't for him i probably would be driving something less amazing (he convinced me to get the GS)

well it's working again, so, crisis under control.
