5-she is too damn boring to drive. I bought my GS300 brand new, she has been reliable but boring. She has 77K, but for the past 2 years I have been dealing with a nagging vibration, rattles, and the suspension feels like it is about to give at any moment. Now the service has been outstanding, but it is not enough for me to buy another GS.

9 for me, but I still love my car. I am hoping the cash I am spending on mods will bring her to a 10 for me.

Not sure if I even posted that in this thread or in another - but our RX left us stranded due to a bad fuel gauge sending unit. Was a 2000 and it occured in something like 2003.

Not sure about your X5 prices either - I believe it has the highest residuals out there of any sports ute.

I have to be honest - if it was a GM vehicle with this many problems I wouldn't be surprised, but as many problems as my GS400 had within relatively low mileage... and based on Lexus' reputation, I'm pretty disappointed.

It wouldn't be as bad if it didn't cost so damn much to fix everything.

10 based on 8+ yrs of total ownership experience.

I am not comparing against other vehicles or leaving margin for improvement. Just rating it based on my expectations at the time of purchase.

Well I give it a ten because I just love the car , it is the first that I have ever bought twice I had a 94 gs and now I have a 03 gs, and I have had plenty of cars before and I only bought them once and despite of the flaws they are still ground breaking cars as far as design ,options, and resale value and whether your car is modded or bone stock it has plenty of street cred and people will always respect a L badge before a cheap Caddie or a lame Chrysler .So my next car will be another gs 06-up

We all can't agree on subjective stuff anyway, that's just life.

If I drove the 540i or the new CLK's or V8 Audi's I might be able to make a fairer comparison and lower my vote by a tad, but for now, the "10" stands.
I'm pretty much in the same boat. After coming from two previously owned american cars(mustangs) this is the first high end car that i have enjoyed modding and driving.. I hope I'm fortunate enough down the road to own more lexus cars.. I have to give the car a 9 because there's no car that is perfect..

You couldn't have said it any better man.
I had three "American" cars prior to the GS and I'm happy with her so far although it's been less than a year of ownership. I think it's still a little too early to rate her but she doing good though and working up the ranks.
