Default GS430 shifting normal...thoughts?

So ive noticed a weird shifting pattern lately and ive been wondering if you all experience the same thing. At times when accelerating the car will shift through all gears but will go into overdrive early and then decide almost immediately to go back into 4th gear. Its almost as if its trying its hardest to go into overdrive and then realizing its not the right gear to be in. Has anybody else noticed this?

I noticed this on mine as well, I just bought it a week ago and don't know if this is normal. Sticking around to see what anyone else has to say.

Mine doesn't go back to 4th, but often will stay in 4th too long even though I'm not even trying to accelerate hard. Takes a few seconds but eventually goes into 5th/OD and everything is fine. Usually it'll happen AFTER I've already done a slightly spirited acceleration off a light or something, and have come to a stop light and am starting to accelerate again. It's not constant or easily reproducible so I chalk it up to electronic gadgetry or over-intelligent shifting mode...

fluid is fine. it happens when the car is warm. it seems like a transmission software issue and not a mechanical issue.

Put it in Performance/Sport mode on the trans, see if it changes behavior, it should.

Yes, it does tend to get in OD pretty quickly on my GS400, but don't have any issues with it deciding to go back.

I would wonder if the TPS is on the fritz possibly.
