The E-Shift is on all the 300's correct?

This is my understanding of how it works from driving a buddys SLK 320.

What ever gear your in it wont go higher than that gear.
For example if you 3rd and you accelerating it will go through 1 and 2 but will stop at 3rd and just rev.

So whatever gear your in your not locked in that gear...just that gear and the gears below it.

So on my auto GS 430 couldnt you do the same thing?

You shift into 3rd from a dead stop...will go through 1 and 2 then rev higher?


Do all manu-matics work the same from all the different manufactures?

from 98-00, eshift was only for gs400, gs300 had no such option. from 01 on, gs300 has eshift and gs430 has no such thing anymore.

yes, it will hold the highest gear and not allowing anymore upshift. so say you use eshift to go to 3rd gear and then come to a stop, your car will start from 1st gear again

with gs430, you can put the gate shifter to d3 and that's about the same idea too
