do you mind xplaining how? I had the understanding it was a CFL bulb that couldnt be replaced? or did you just do a super complicated mod and rewire the whole thing?

I eliminated the CFL bulb all together, got plastic tubing and heat it with a heat gun to bend into the groove, put leds on both ends of the tubes and solder it to the plug. Its a tight fit on the solder points and if something goes wrong you ruin your gauge. I blew like 8 bulbs before I got it right but im still not sure if its going to last. What you can do though is buy a slim led strip that will fit into the groove then solder it to the plug pins from the back. That way u have the correct resistance and everything premade. I think I used pin 1 and 22 on the big plug. One was chassis ground and the other was ignition power. It is risky though.

It also has a light sensor that adjusts the contrast depending on the light outside.

Nice mod, and maybe I'm showing my age but if you're laid back so far that you can't see the gauges, how the f do you see the road in front of the car?

Ok I will post one this week. I don't have any pictures though. So I will try to be a detailed as possible. First thing, if you intend to do it you will need to purchase 2 1ft piece of SLIM led strip of your color choice. When I say slim I mean 2- 4 mm thick. 3mm is the ideal size.

LOL. The gs300 has full range seats so what I lose laying back I gain by lifting it up. lol
