I think the whole point of the valet key is to allow valet attendants to drive and park your car without getting into the trunk or the glovebox that are closed by the master key.
If your valet key does not start your car....it does nothing else either and in its current state can be defined as worthless.

I did this and it works, it is very easy. I bought my car used and was worried about the previous owner having other keys. I followed the instructions on BananaGS's site to ERASE ALL CODES and my valey key and second remote control master key would not start the engine. It would crank but would not turn over until I followed the instructions to program them seperately. Maybe my car is different ???

But the guy who broke into his apartment - who knows what his skill level is in auto theft and hacksaw 101? He's got a key and expects to drive off scott free with no issues. He might have to wait until tomorrow morning to go to Home Depot to even buy a hacksaw.

I stick with my original post Anything you can do to slow them down until you get your keys repogrammed - do it.
It takes less than 12 seconds to cut through the Steering Wheel. Why have the guy waste his money and have a false sense of security. Every thief is aware of this. Don't kid yourself. Really do not even need a hacksaw the steering wheel is very easy to cut through otherwise you would be killed if you ever got into an accident. He should contact his insurance company right away and bring his car to the dealer.

Wouldn't be of much use if the valet couldn't start your car with the valet key.
