Sounds like I'm not out of the norm for wanting to carry the full coverage I'd also be interested in modification coverage now that I know it's out there.

Full Coverage, my thoughts, if I can't afford to replace it and it is my Daily Driver. Full Coverage.

If I had $5k-$10k cash on hand and could afford to drop it on another ride if mine got bit, sure, I would look at dropping it, but not until....

And a side benefit of FC, if you get hit, your insurance will usually take care of the damage, even if someone else's fault and settle with the other insurance company to get you back on the road quickly. Nice perk.

Im running comprehensive, which covers "acts of god" (ie: hail, trees, if an animal hits the car bla bla bla) Theft, fire, flooding. It covers EVERYTHING besides if the accident is strictly my fault. I run this under every single car I have ever owned. Ask yourself this.. If you were to wake up and go outside or come out of the mall and see that your car is gone and was stolen, how bad would you hate yourself knowing you could have spent just $35 more a month and the insurance company would have cut you a nice check. But since you were cheap, you now have to fork out $4k plus for another GS now.

Thats how i see it.

Yup.... I got my Buick side window broke into overnight and door bent up by a prybar. COMP covered it....i had a zero deductible and it really paid off. 500 to 250 to 100 deductible is pretty small difference. Always check.

i work for state farm, a lot of the custom work done on vehicles ISNT covered. Unless you have it in writing, it is NOT covered. I have liability, plus comprehensive, i drive fair enough to not get myself into an accident, but cant prevent theft.

^^^^ agreed i work for AAA for over 10 years

We cover OEM equipment. Aftermarket parts that replaced oem are covered at oem cost when its paid out. In many cases thats better than the aftermarket parts since not everyone puts high end parts.

For instance: oem hids taken out swapped for ebay halo projectors front end damaged payout for oem hid headlights.

But then you have the ballers with $3k+ rims $4k body kits and so on... and we'll use my 1998 gs3 for this example that kbb at maybe $5k ... Car would be totalled and i'll took a major loss. So again if its not heavily modded in the sense of dollar figures full coverage and low deductibles would be the way to go.

Full coverage and $200 deductable. I learned the hard way with another car that insurance will only restore your car to its original stock condition with used parts if they are available.
