Default hard shifting

Ive noticed lately that my 99 gs300 has been shifting hard. Especially if im slowing down at say a light, and im still rolling and then i give it gas again, it almost jumps forward. its reall annoying. Ive noticed that if i drive in 4 instead of D that it seems a little smoother. Is this normal or is this something i should take to the dealer about. Also my 4 year warranty just expired last month. but the powertrain is for 6yr 70k miles right? wouldnt this be covered under that?

nope, its only got 40k miles on it.. hasnt come up in the maintenance schedule in the book yet. If i take it to the dealer to have it checked out, they will probably charge me if they feel everything is ok wont they?

Question

this happens to my GS and it's the same year.
I changed the tranny and differential fluid and it still happens.
my whole problem is the closest dealer to me is bayridg lexus, let me tell you this has to be the worst dealership around .so I 'll
just wait and see what happens my car is still under warranty so when it really gets annoying then i'll take it in,if you find out whats the problem let us know.

ie: I think it may be a tranny mount ,jsut a thought

The dealer told me that there was an upgrade to the computer for the tranny shifting problem. I have an 01 GS300. He said it was not available yet.

I just got an appt for 1/20/03 to upgrade my ECM for my hard shifting probs on my 2001 gs300.

There's a TSB for 2001 Gs300 and IS300. Im sure this is the same prob for earlier models as well.

Default Hard shifting

So far, I am totally unhappy with the Lex Dealer, and yes I had this hard/knoking like shifting. It happens as follow:
speed b/w 30-45, car is rolling in traffic, no gas;
as if there is a downshift because of the low speed, then if I steo on it, it feels like a hard shift via clutch on a loaded truck??!!
Lex dealer, could not DUPLICATE this problem, and I am yet to go with one of their tech for a test drive to duplicate not only this but also the rattle in the sunroof!!

ity is ANNNNNNNNNNOying. I'll Sell the damn car if they don't fix it.

I have the problem to and I have a 2002 GS300. This is an on going problem since 98. I don't understand why they just don't come up with something to fix it. I hate going to service because I either have to go to bay ridge or the one in NYC. They are both owned by the same people so you can understand how bad there service is. It doesn't happen offten so I guess I just leave it alone.
