Default Key fobs work randomly

Two months ago I had my car in the body shop because someone hit my back passenger door. After picking it up my Key fob's will only work after I manually use the key. After walking away out of range, I will have to manually lock or unlock for them to work again. I have replace batteries in both key fobs and no luck. I am baffled that they only work after using the key manually to unlock or lock.

I dont know what to do to fix this other than taking it to the stealership and that is a last resort.

I bet if you opened the door, you'll find that they broke the plastic end of the locking cable. I know thats why mine randomly works.

Yes that is where I was hit. I was under the impression that the dealer had to reprogram the key fobs. I found the DIY to reset so I will try that in a few.

I will take my door panel off and check if they broke the end of the cable. That could cause the key fobs to work randomly??? Weird.

It stops it from unlocking/locking. The sensor senses it and stops.

Do you hear it at all clicking when you press the button? If not, then nvm.

The receiver box for the key fob transmitter is under the right passenger rear pillar, your box could of been damaged, my black plastic cable also broke on my door and it is loose but it still works fine I don't think that's your problem...
