Default Oil Leak Question

I know my car has been leaking oil but I need to know what is exactly causing the leak. For sure I know one is from the valve cover gasket but the other one is confusing me. I already have the gaskets for the valve cover so I plan to attack that soon. I took a couple of pics of the areas. Any help will be appreciated. Yes, I know it looks bad down there but that's how I got the car.

I'm guessing this is from the valve cover.

This leak drips off the edge of the tranny. My guess is the rear main seal?

Also, the tranny pan is covered in oil. I appreciate the help guys.

Start from the top and work your way down. if valve covers are leaking you will be able to see it from the top. Replace them and brake clean all the crap dry and go from there.

Agreed. With that much oil from the top you can bet the valve covers are leaking. Replace them and clean everything off. I would also suspect cam seals if the leak is up front.(sorry it's hard to tell orientation in those pictures). Valve cover gasket is such a suspect place to leak, you might as well do it first since it is relatively inexpensive to fix.

PS: people tend to recommend using degreaser cans from autozone and then spray with water. In my exp they dont work worth of crap! a fresh oil residue yes, but cooked on stuff like you got, mixed with dirt will not come off unless you use a mild pressure washer on top, and i dont think pressure washer belongs in an engine bay with engine still in it

thus my recomendation for brake cleaner( but expensive )

Yeah take out those valve cover gaskets, clean it all down then check again. Take off your timing belt cover also and check in there that will show you if you have a leak around your cam seals etc..
