Default Piercing Noise from Dashboard

Over the last few weeks whilst stating the ignition of my GS300 (2001), I have found a increasingly horrid noise, a screeching-piercing noise from the dashboard. At first it came on for a second or two and disappeard. Then gradually more and more until now it is on constantly. On the dash board the following lights now come on - VSFOFF ABS VSC.

Could anyone assist with what might be at fault?

The next time you hear it, open your hood and see if its coming from where your brake fluid is. I'm pretty certain its your ABS ecu. Its like a high pitched buzzing sound right?

no bueno

its your alternator....Do you have a aftermarket audio system in you car?? Same thing happened to me thought it was tps sensor at first because thats what the codes read then but lights came back on after a couple days finally checked voltage and figured out it was the alternator.

Thanks for this assistance. I have opened the hood and the noise does not come from there. The audio system is the one since the car was bought new. Today the sat/nav system/mapping has packing in but everything else still works. Radio / data etc.
