Default anybody have experience

buying a salvage yard car to source parts from... i was doing some google searching and came across a 2003 SD GS300 with saddle interior and was wondering if i could just buy the car to pick the parts off of.

Anybody done that before?

you can. but they will charge you an arm and a leg. They rather keep the car and sell it for parts vs selling the car as a whole sometime. They make more money keeping the car.

if thats the case. i have done it with a civic at a auction open to the public. bought the car for XXX amount and took the parts i needed and sold parts on the forum, Craigslist, Ebay to make some money back. it is alot cheaper to do that then buying just the interior alone. for the shell and frame i just cut it and recycled that for a cash.

Takes alot of time and space to break even. dont forget the mess.

I have done it for a motorcycle also.

If you pull the trigger on it soon. Also the car is non navi I am looking for the heater/ac control unit. Swaping out the dated navi on my GS and go with a aftermarket H/U. Let me know cuse I am about to pull a trigger in a week to buy one off ebay. If you get it sooner then we can work out a deal. Just let me know.
