Default Projector Retro Fit.

Where is a good place to get my headlights done? I do not want to do it myself. Any good recommendations? Also my headlights have a clear protection screen on it would that be a problem?

the luxury mods brackets takes a lot of the hard work out of retrofitting our cars. If you can take the headlights off, you can retrofit it. everything is pretty straight forward. You will probably have to be creative with the shrouds and mounting but everything else is smooth sailing afterwards.

The clear protective film will not melt at the very low temps that are used to soften the sealant. The adhesive that sticks it to the lens may, however, break down and the film may begin to lift.

Headlights need to be in the oven for a good 10-15 min at 225-250F. Im sure that protective film will melt at those temperatures.

Q45 are hard to find same goes for LS430s. LS460 are in my for sale thread in 2nd GS classified. RX and FX dont come with shrouds so you'd have to figure out which shroud to use to cover that huge gap.

I suppose it depends on the type of film.

I have a side business creating automotive graphics from intermediate grade vinyl (Oracal 651). The temperature range of vinyl is up to 300°F.

The clear paint protection films - like 3M Scotchgard - are actually made from urethane. I don't have any first-hand experience with subjecting them to high temperatures for short periods of time - but a quick Google search suggests that they should be able to easily handle 250° for 15 minutes.

Again...the adhesive that attaches the protective film to the lens will likely break down before the film itself does. Be prepared to remove it if necessary.

Thanks for the info. I think it he 3M but not sure came with the car when I bought it. If its easy to remove I will probably just do that and install a new protective film.

Does anyone know if the luxury mods brackets will fit the morimoto mini h11? D2s? Don't remember what bulb type they come in but they are the screw on type that's supposed to be plug and play? I don't want to fiddle with custom mounting them

What I want to know is who do I have to pay to retrofit projectors in both the headlights and the high beams. The LM brackets fit the outers but not the inners.

I dont know how many times you have taken apart headlights but putting plastic headlights into an oven that is on is crazy. In my experience you need to preheat the oven to 350 for 10 mins, turn off the oven and put the headlight on a cookie sheet and leave it in there for 5-10 mins.
