Default Anyone using HIR bulbs

As the title states, is there anyone using HIR halogen bulbs or have used them in the past in place of the factory halogen bulbs? I saw them on sale on Amazon, so I jumped on them yesterday for $20/bulb with free shipping. I just got notification that they just shipped, so I will post before and after pics after they are installed. I saw old threads from members who don't post here anymore, but no pics. I know that they are way better than the factory halogen lumens, but wanted to hear from real users.

I just needed more USEFUL light in my headlights. I can't seem to find anyone in the area to do the retrofit for me, so I know this is the next best option without blinding everyone on the road with PnP kits and using the Silverstar crap blubs.

Are you in DFW? If so you can ask Jeff Tsai. He may be able to fit it into his schedule. He does all my work that I can not. Great guy and awesome work.

^^I'm in Houston, but I don't mind driving the 4 hrs. I have friends there who I could visit. Did Jeff do a retrofit for you? I can source all of my parts through TRS and Lux Mods, but I'm just afraid to do this job myself. I want HID's badly! What is Jeff's user name?

Im going to start my ls460 retro soon. It should be wayyyy easier with the luxury mod bracket. U might want to look into a DIY to save some $

This is a great option. I installed the bulbs two days ago and they are waaaay better than regular halogen bulbs. It's almost like riding around with you high beams. It's a direct replacement and it has a lot of useful light vs. the blinding hid kit route. The only thing you have to do is shave off the top tab a bit. It's raining a lot here, but once I clean up the lense, I will really get to see how they look at night.

Post some pics when you get a chance! I'd love to see.

Also Jeff's username is JeffTsai. Mike @ Original Garage is in Houston. He swears up and down he won't do anymore retros but if you're willing to bring the car to him and allow him to align it I'm sure he won't mind.. Tell him Daniel with the white GS from Dallas sent you and just tell him you're really in need of someone to do a retro and you're willing to have the car there for him to line up the lights correctly etc.. He may be nice enough to do them and fit you in his schedule. Only reason I say to bring the car to him is because one reason he stopped doing them is because people would want him to ship them to them and he can't align them without the car there, so he quit doing them due to that, but maybe you can talk him into it. He does great work.
