So at first they told me it was the tires needing to be balanced, did that, problem not fixed. Then they said I had bad tires. Since then I have 4 brand new tires, still problem exists. Then had the brakes checked(even though I put 4 new pads on since I bought it)and they said my rotors are warped and that was the problem. Just got done putting new rotors and pads and it's still doing it. Now it did fix the problem though when I braked from coming on the off ramp and the steering wheel would shake hard. it doesn't shake at all when I brake, but still vibrates way too much for my taste on the steering wheel when I rest my hand in the center and the passenger seat is vibrating pretty bad. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this or what this could be guys?

thanks in advance,
Scott
Looks like me and you are on the same boat, i hope there's a solution to this.

Question to those who have tried everything and still have the shakes but in the steering wheel only. There are three sources of play between the steering rack and the steering wheel. Two u joints and a moving spline inside the steering column (that allows the steering wheel to telescope). The spline is greased. I noticed on my car that the steering wheel only slightly vibrates around 60 to 70 on certain parts of the interstate when I go to work. The vibration is only in the steering wheel. The passenger does not notice it at all and there is no evidence of anything else vibrating. There are certain parts of my commute (actually most of the commute) where there are absolutely no vibration and other parts of the commutte there is a slight vibration. If I do the same commute with my 1992 LS400 I get no vibration at all. Has anyone looked into the possibility that for this type of symptoms the ujoints or the spline have excessive play? It is obvious to me that the cause is a resonant frequency. I suspect that if anything in the suspension and steering is worn this resonant is amplified through the steering mechanism play. When I go to work today I will telescope my wheel in different posistions and see if the vibration , as slight as it is, lessens (indicating spline wear). Maybe people who have their steering telescoped in feel less vibration than those who have it telescoped out. I have mine all the way out. Just one source of possible vibrations I have not heard mentioned anywhere on this site.

Default Everything's has it own Natural Prequency

I think the 2nd GS was unintentional designed @ 65-75 MPH. I got a little vib too. If I am ever going to buy another 2nd GS, I either leave it along, or replace everythings all at once. Control arms bushings, links and rods and bushin. The part to this folks, the car is comfortable for everyday use and long distance cruising.

I wonder what regreasing the telescoping spline would do?

Ok I increased my tire pressure to 40 psi cold. I have 17 inch rims with continental dws tires and the last of my vibration seems to be gone. For those of you that have done all the suspension stuff and have nearly no vibration left try 40 psi and report back
