Vibration on Breaking
My LS400 has been vibrating when the brakes are applied even though I had the brakes done (not by dealer) and front end work recently done, bushings, etc. But I am still have the problem. I put on Michelin tires for the first time and had the tires rotated and balance again. Still doing it. Any Idea of what the problem could be, i.e. why I still have very noticeable vibration in the steering wheel upon breaking. Do you think not have Lexus do the breaks is the were I went wrong or is there another potential problem that maybe someone out there also experience and identified. Thanks for your consideration and reply.

My older 99 started doing that, I replaced mine (front rotors and ceramic pads) on my 99LS earlier this year. Got mine from brake overstock (TRW brand) for $90 total (rotors & pads). smooth as satin...

What brake rotors did you use? China made ebay slotted or drilled rotors warp very fast. The owner of my ls before me installed ebay drilled rotors 2 days before i bought the car. They warped within 2 weeks.

TRW has been making rotors/brake equipment and pads longer than we have had Toyota's in America CHECK THEM OUT http://www.trwauto.com/

First terminology:
The most common cause is a warped rotor. If the rotor was not turned/machined during the brake service, this is the likely suspect. Which bushings were replaced in the front end?
Brake - is a device which inhibits motion
Breaking - to separate into parts with suddenness or violence

Second, what really is a "warped" rotor
Check out the following website for what is actually causing "warped" rotor vibration:

Ceramic pads and good quality rotors should fix the problem
