Default Does anybody know what this is from?

Has anybody ever experienced this happening to their door handles? My two front handles look like this but my backs are perfectly fine. How does this happen?

I don't know what it is, but try some rubbing compound and it should come off.

Do you know why that would only happen to the front door handles specifically but not anywhere else on the car?

Rubbing compound isn't taking that off, that's your paint, resprayed or buy used chrome ones...

Mainly because our handles are plastic and paint on plastic usually doesnt last as long as paint on metal.

good example is the GS's spoiler if you have it. They usually go out first .

You can DIY rattle can your handlesif it really bugs you. Just make sure you remove them from the handle and prep them well. It can look like new if done right.

The aftermarket mirrors on my SUV look exactly like this. They were painted for free by a friend of a friend 12 years ago so I figured it was poor prep + quality of paint catching up.

My 2GS spoiler is in horrible shape now too.

I don't think rubbing compound will help much since that looks like paint damage.

You use your fronts more and it looks like you may have gotten something on there over the years that caused it to deteriorate faster than the rears.
