Does anybody have remote start on a 2002 gs300/430?? Im thinking of installing one in my gs300 but is it worth it?



I like having the feature with the stock alarm that the windows roll down holding the unlock button will i be able to keep this??

 

i have the option with my compustar.

you can keep the function with the key remote, but also have it as optional with the aftermarket alarm.

 

I've heard of the luxlink system is that what you have or something else?

I'm trying to get remote start but keep my factory remote.

 

i have no clue, but i know they used something called the blade system to bypass the imobilizer briefly to get remote start to work.

as for factory remote, the only one i had is the one thats on the key. all of it still works except for trunk release when i have remote start activated.

 

SorrGwa: would love to know what you have because the luxlink system is discontinued and I'm looking for something to go with my factory remote.

 

I have a new luxlink remote start waiting to get installed, I just haven't had time. I think luxlink is the only remote start that you can use with original remote key.

 

I have compustar, the top model, auto window roll down still works, but I programmed the compustar to have close window function.

And auto start is great in this weather

as far as i know, my compustar pro alarm uses this system to bypass the immobilizer for the auto start.

i had trunk release programmed to option 2, and kept it also on my oem key/remote.
option 1 is to roll down the windows, and auto roll up and close when the alarm is armed.

 

Give luxury motorworks a call to see if the SC/GS 430 luxlink is compatible to the GS300.

 

what model compustar is it? and was the installation done at a ashop or was a DIY project

 

Yes you can do that, make sure you communicate this with the Installer. Your remote starter and alarm system is only as good as the install.
