Anyone handed over their wood trim to be recolored/stained? I have the typical maplewood and I'm going to try to hand it over to a carpenter to have it done piano black or ebony. Not interested in swapping or aftermarket trim

 

Have you thought about hydro dipping?

 

I wrapped my trim in 3m 1080 piano black for a bit, looked good, when i grew tired if the look i pulled the trim, removed the wrap, and reinstalled my nice wood.

I highly suggest the wrapping method for piano black

 

Search SoCalSC4 (Bob) he sanded, re-stained, and cleared. Turned out great.

 

Piano black has a very classy look. My shift **** is chrome with black piano finish

 

wrap it....if I get tired of it, I'll peel it off.

Where do you guys buy the wraps?

 

rVinyl sells kits such as piano black. Easy to install, easy to uninstall once you grow tired of it. Cheap, inexpensive mod. I wrapped my wife's IS250 interior in Carbon Fiber and the quality is superb.
