I only use Amsoil ATF in my tranny...it provides awesome protection. Royal Purple oil in the engine ftw all day!

sa0625: I have been using Amsoil for about 3 years now, I only use XL. Please be aware that you can use this oil for 25K miles or 1 year, whichever comes first. I would suggestion two oil changes a year though. They also use to sell oil filter that worked with this oil, also for 25K miles or one year, but they stop it. They are pushing WIX oil filters now, that only last about 7K miles... Great product, I also have my tranny filled with Amsoil as well...

I used Amsoil in my old car, it's too pricy for me now so I use Castrol synthetic. I used the one that you can run for 25,000KM, which I changed at 10,000 with a filter change every 5,000. I'd say it does exactley what it says, it's good stuff.

I like what iv'e heard about Amsoil so i bought 6 qts of it - i also bought an amsoil EA oil filter which is what they recommend to use with the XL.. you say that this filter is no good? or does that just mean i gotta get the filter changed in a couple months?

Wait, if you use ams oil, you can drive it 25k before another oil change? Unlike other oils you change every 5k (I change every 2500-3k).

Yea, Amsoil seems pretty promising in what they offer as long lasting oil.. I just changed my oil to Amsoil XL and my GS feels like it's running smoother already.. I flushed the engine before I put the new stuff in Just so it doesn't mix in with the old oil and I can see if I noticed any results from it - which I do. I will most likely stick with amsoil for my future changes.

Probably more of a placebo effect. I will search BITOG to see some UOA's on this oil with real studies to see if it can last 25k. I wouldn't push any oil that far.

That is crazy ... 25k oil changes.. If they can provide proof, I'm switching.. Lol.. Actually no cause the thought of not changing the oil every 3k kills me since I'm use to it already.
