Pull the bulb from the dash, very simple and takes 2 minutes, that's what I did.... I removed my trunk several times, if u have any problems report back, I'll be more than happy to help u..
its actually against the law and unsafe not to have a 3rd brake light. buy a 3rd brake light from chin or RGW and plug it up, all models are wired for it
ill take my chances... if people can't see the big *** brake lights on the rear than they shouldn't be on the road..... but thanks for the info....
It's your choice and your car, but Its not a good idea to drive without a 3rd brake light, it actually helps people behind you to let them know you're slowing down, especially in bright daylight when the taillights are less visible and can prevent you from getting rear ended by a blind idiot. Just do what I did and get a brake light from a 7 series BMW and wire it in. Looks really nice from the outside. I still have to fab a covering for it.
if someone rear ends you and they see you dont have a 3rd brake light your gonna be held responsible..... but go ahead take your chances.
I believe a third brake light is required by law in NYS. Its silly to say
" if people can't see the big *** brake lights on the rear than they shouldn't be on the road.."
Most people who cant drive are on the road 24/7.
the third brake light takes second guessing whether or not your brakes are pressed, especially during hard to see conditions, like winter time when glare and sun are at its most potent..
Id be scared to drive in NYC without one, and yes if you get rear ended with failure to properly maintain safety equipment, your at fault, unless you give the cop a bribe not to put it on the police report.
