Next stop, metra 70-8113. The pin outs are perfect and was a direct fit.
The ones I need were:
Blue/Yellow stripe - constant
Gray - Acc
Lt Green - Illumination
White/Black stripe - ground
Since I am using an aftermarket amp, I de-pinned the RCAs that are on the metra harness.

So.........
I wrapped up the install tonight. I havent had a chance to drive the car yet though. I tried a vss wire that i hope reads correctly. Until I drive it (in the morning) I wont be able to confirm. If it works, I will post my findings.
Unfortunately, I forgot to snap a pic of the climate control unit - let's assume that if you have an 01+ GS w/ nav, you should use an 01+ climate control unit.

I can only speak for myself, and I REALLY appreciate you posting up this thread. I'm planning on doing this swap sometime next year, and was dreading having to figure out the details on my own.
You will make this SO much easier for many peeps.
Props to you!!

I have just bought a nice 15 year old '01 GS430 equipped with stock SatNav.
As the maps are old as ****** and I want more functionality, I would like to replace the OEM SatNav with the aftermarket one that is currently in my non-nav '98 GS300.
I have already sold the GS300 (which has done about 450.000km). It will have 20 more years to live in Africa, so I cannot just rip the A/C module from that one (I have tested it, and it DOES work in the GS430).
There is plenty of those units on eBay, however I am concerned about the temperature gauge. I'm living in Europe and we use Celcius instead of Fahrenheit.
My GS300 has HVAC P/N 55900-3A210 and displays my temperature in degrees Celsius. I see sellers on eBay selling exact same P/N, but they are located in the US. Would hate to see my money go to waste when it shows degF instead of degC.
Can someone tell me if this would work? And is it in fact the same P/N used in the US?
Thanks a bunch!
