01 GS430 nav question

if i had a ML stereo and i wanted factory nav, what do i need other than the factory headunit?

computer, also the oem nav controls the ac/heater etc... from what i have heard, it's more expensive to change to oem nav than to buy a aftermarket unit with nav.
