Default Popping when reversing.

I have a '98 GS 300 and sometimes when reversing from my drive way there is a popping noise/feel to the car. When I put it in reverse and just let the car roll down while using the brakes as needed. Sometimes I'll hit the brakes and I'll feel and hear the noise. Any idea what it is? My brakes do tend to squeak when pressing in the morning time.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Well the brakes will squeak in the morning cause their still cold, after they warm up they should be fine. The reversing problem is most likey the reverse motor mounts. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Depends...

If the sound you are hearing is happening as you alternate between forward and reverse or reverse and forward, then its 99% the brake hardware clips.

I am having the same issue. When in reverse you will hear a clunking sound even when you are turning your steering wheel. Check your bushings. When I looked, my bushings for my lower radius arm are shot. So far I only found parts that are from the dealer. Still looking for after market parts.
