Default Random I know but .....

.... has anyone come up with a useful / cool use for the ashtrays in the rear doors?

I have been racking my brains for something to use them for... ? Airfreshners? Sweets? Even thought about putting rubbers in there if I get lucky but if imagine if my mum ever looked in there, she'd think I was some kind of a pimp

useful idea.... if you smoke or let people smoke in the car, put ashes in their otherwise leave empty

if your living at home, with mom, your not a pimp regardless of how many rubbers are in them

Ha ha. Be nice. You don't have to live with mom to take her out to dinner or shopping. I have my folks in my car from time to time.

you can throw some LEDS, hardwire it to the door lights. It will only light up when the doors are open though. Just an idea.

Put USB ports in there so your passengers can charge their phones. I am doing this in my Durango so my kids can charge their iPad and iPod.

12V and ground should not be too tough. Any 12v to USB adapter can be used. I might do this myself in my Lexus too. Hmm...

i didnt think of that abel

assuming the voltage for the phone (usb plug) is correct these should work

i need to check to see what the voltage is for them but these seems to have potential

http://www.instructables.com/id/12v-...former-great-/

if not you could probably split one of these open and hardwire them

This is the type I used. Just open it up and solder on your own wires.
