Why is my key range so bad?
Any idea why my key range on my GS400 isn't that great? I literally have to be right next to the car for it to lock/unlock.. I did change the battery and it hasn't helped. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Lol oh boy not again.. SEARCH homie!!!! But anyways I did the making the whole car an antenna last night, doesn't work, so much for getting out of bed excited to no avail.. Op mine is the same it sucks... Just touch the tip of the key under your chin then hit the button..

Should I maybe buy two keys and reprogram them for my car? If its a for sure fix I wouldn;t mind.
Wait a second!.!. Just tried it again at work:
25 feet WORKS
50 feet WORKS
75 feet WORKS
100 feet WORKS!!!
Plus I changed out the battery in the fob, this, and the antenna mod, we may have sumping here..
UPDATE****
Back to the normal horrible range, oh well

there could be local interference, but I think it's more likely your key's transmitter is gonezo. You say you're driving a 400, meaning 98-00....12-14 years old. It IS a strong possibility haha
there's also a small possibility your keyless module might be on it's way out....see if you can find a lexus dealer near you that'll do a free diag. Don't forget, the key is simply a dumb transmitter, and as counterintuitive as it may be the keyless module has to actively listen...meaning it's receiver can wear out over time just as the key's transmitter can wear out too.
