Default Remote Key problem

I have a 92 ES300 with built in keylock. Recently I ahven't been able to get it to function unles the key is physically touching a metal art of the car itself. I chnged the batteries and used two different keys. Could it have anything to do with the recent battery change?

maybe the antenna is badd on the reciever unit of the car or the transponder in the key is not working properly either.

Here is a quick check you can do to see if the key is infact transmitting a signal.

1. Insert key in ignition and turn to accessory
2. Turn on and tune radio to 94.9FM
3. Press the transmit button on the key
4. If the key is sending a signal you will hear interference in the radio. If you don't, the key is bad. If you have already replaced the battery, the key transmitter is probably bad.

God Luck, let us know what happened.

I'm gonna try that, what I also meant what I did change the battery in the key, even used the spare key, same result, I have to physically touch the car. What I meant to say was that I changed the car's battery too, another factor could be that I do use an RF modulated cd changer. Anwyays, I am gonna see if the transponders working. Thanks.

I checked the 94.9 and I do hear interference. What's more is that if I physically touch the antenna or go near it with remote, it works. I also have to mention that my antenna is malfunctioning because it won't go down, bu the motor still works. It seems that my signal is not strong enough unless I am conducting with the car physically.
