Does a manual gs exist?
I am searching for a sc300 in a stick, but my jdm importer swears that the gs came in sticks. I would rather have a gs but the stick is more inportant. Thought maybe someone here might know!!!
Thanks
Thanks
no the first manual lexus had i believe was the ES250 and the ES300 (old models not the new ones). My dad works at a Lexus dealership and says they are rear but he dealership gets only 3 a year and they sell out very quickly. u r very lucky if you find one. 1 person i know has one and he got it by a fluke, it was advertised without any tranny info and when he went to check it, it was a stick.
no GS has been manual.

The ES had a manual available for several years at it's inception, esp after the ES300 came out and was advertised as a sprots sedan.
The SC300 was available with 5 spd until 1995; I ordered one in 91 but took delivery on an available SC400 after 3 months (speical order wait then was about 6 months since production of the SC was just ramping up). 15 mos later I re-ordered and took delivery of my 1993 SC300 5 spd on June 12, 1992. I kept it for almost 8 years, only selling it when I got to the point of needing more back seat room for my growing boys.
GS has never been available in this country with 3 pedals and a stick; don't know about Japanese market versions.

E-Dogg is absolutely correct.
The ES300 had a manual available for several years at it's inception to bolster Lexus's advertising it as a sports sedan.

Don't remember the ES manual as a 10Best either, but ain't caught Sick out yet, so I'll blame memory, original ignorance or both and give him the benefit..........

Nope, no Lexus GS ever came with a manual.
Even in the Japanese market, the Aristo S300, V300 all come in auto only, such a bummer.
In Japan, the closest car would be a Toyota Chaser, it comes with the 1JZGTE with a 5 or 6 speed manual. I wish I can buy that here

Jimmit, you are right. the sc300 has stick up to 1997 because I was looking for one when I purchased my SC back in 97. BNR, I believe you are wrong about Japanese version of GS. On one of the Option magazine (or it could be VIP car), there was an article about a GS and it was stickshift. I will try to locate the mag and post the picture.
