100K+ Tune-up
Hello CL,
I'm doing a tune up on my 02 GS3. Changing
.Timing belt
.Cam seals
.valve cover gaskets
.front main seal
.water pump.
Other than oil, air filter and spark plugs nothing has been changed.
Any suggestion on what else I should look into changing... gaskets,Fuel filter, tensioners.. etc???
Car has 115k+
Any input would be appreciated. Below are the prices I got for OEM parts. LMK if its a deal.
TIMING BELT $ 23.29
CAM SEAL $ 4.81 X 2
VALVE COVER GASKETS $ 8.74
TIMING COVER GASKETS $ 13.42,
WATER PUMP $ 111.22

Would suggest swapping tensioner while you're in there. Also, change all fluids: Coolant, ps, tranny, brake, etc.

I was quoted $320 for the labor. Does that sound good?

If that's labor for everything, that sounds like a pretty fair deal. Burny has a good point too.

320 sounds pretty good price, doing the valve cover and cam seal etc 3-4 hours to do. those take some time!

If you want to cover all your bases, you could change your engine air filter & pcv valve, and your cabin air filter.

@LOWGS300..Motion Motorworks by Tamiami airport is the shop. I pretty much interviewed the mechanic/owner and he was very knowledgeable. I feel comfortable allowing him to do the work. plus he came recommended from several friends.
Thanks for the info Neegroy and Blanco.

Also, if it hasn't already been done, now would be a good time to clean the throttle body, and MAF sensor while he's in there.

I live near Tamiami. I'll go check out this shop once I get a chance. So $320 and what type of service will be done? Full tune up including what?
