The timing belt from Carson toyota is $45.50.
Is this the only part i need to purchase to give my mechanic for the 90,000 mile timing belt replacement?

Thanks

You all must have mind reading capabilities.

...to milellie11, and what motor are we asking about?
1uz or 2jz? or maybe have your mechanic buy the parts.

I have an 02 GS430 with 93,000 miles on it. I'm sure i could find the parts cheaper online than my mechanic.

I found this: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,ca...,parttype,5759

Will this do?

Also, are these good?

OEM parts for under $200
I use AISIN Part # TKT001 from Rock Auto, all OEM parts it includes :
AISIN Water Pump
Koyo Idler Bearing
Koyo Tensioner Bearing
Mitsuboshi Timing Belt
Water Pump Gaskets & O-Rings

Plus the Tensioner, from Rock Auto, GATES Part # T43097 which is made by NTN, also OEM

I may also have a front crankshaft oil seal on hand. Just in case it needs replacing.

Good luck

I'm at 108K and looking at using the same kit FrankT mentioned. My local labor shop quoted about $300 for the work. Pretty fair I thought for ASE, experienced mechanic.

Yup that's fair...you're pretty much dishing out money also on the parts. I had mine done for $300 labor and $400 parts (water pump/timing belt change). Runs like a champ.

Wonder why the tensioner isn't included in the kit??

Thats a steal, I was once quoted either $1100 or $1200 when I had my first gs400... Then I learnt to buy my parts... A FRIEND did it (labor) for around $400... Not a great deal like $300 but I'll live with it...
