I had successful program my first remote for remote. But no matter what I tried, I just can't program the second key. I can program second key for engine to start just not the remote.
Why?? please help!!

Are your door lock motors failing? In my new "project" car, the motors are all dead and I couldn't for the life of me program the keyless entry.

I have the opposite problem of you in my other GS - I cannot for the life of me program the key to start, I am considering cloning my master key because it's so annoying to keep trying - I mean I DID program two spares to start the car and now they don't work anymore - I erased all other keys and then tried many times to program the spare keys with no luck.

In order to perform the remote program procedure properly the key should be a programmed master key (= Dark Gray top or Remote key

Issues may arise when trying to program a remote using a Valet key (gray top non remote) or a Master key not yet programmed to start the vehicle.

Just as an update, I found my actual spare key and programmed it - worked right away - the other 2 keys I have will not program to the immobilizer - I guess somethings wrong with them?

Maybe our new expert (thanks for your input BTW) has some input on it?

Is it the immobilizer chip in the key you are trying to program or the remote portion?

If it is the immobilizer, you can tell if you are doing it right because your light will stay out until you get to the step where you put the new key in and hit the gas once.

If the LED lights up before that you are not in programming mode.

Also, it takes about 5 -10 seconds once you insert the new key and hit the gas once till the LED will begin flashing (this is when it is trying to learn the new chip)

My issue was that I was trying to program keys with invalid chips (like for another lexus or just dead ones) I managed to buy only the bare chips and replace them and guess what? they programmed right up the first time too!

Just follow the steps and you'll get it.

Where can I buy a Key Fob and chip? My car only came with one key and I would really like to have an extra, without paying $300 to the dealer. Is this possible, and if so, where do I look? I've only come up with 'empty' shells.

So I am in the car right now, got it to go into programming mode, but it seems to keep blinking for much longer than 1 minute. What the hell is going on?

Here is the video of the process. Can someone let me know if I am doing it wrong?

Cool

A couple things.

- Make sure all doors, hood and trunk are closed.

- You can experiment in the speed at which you hit the pedals (make sure the brake lights go on each time you press and the gas goes all the way to the floor)

- It is also possible all the "slots" for keys are full ( I think it allows 8) so you can do the delete procedure - this was a little scary for me at first, but it'll only delete all the keys EXCEPT the one you are using to do the procedure - this did work for me a couple times as I ran into a coulee cars so far that had all the slots full.

- I also had a couple keys with faulty (or wrong) chips so they would not program no matter what - I purchased chips from this guy - (he sold me extra chips only with a key purchase):
