Pic is dark. I tend to like the more functional, high-performance look over the VIP style. So I'm loving this thread! Keep them coming.

Well u can get there on a budget trust me...

Tanabe DF springs will get you close to that drop and finding wheels either in the classifieds, our vendors, and even Discount tire direct for decent wheels at affordable prices.. You certainly don't have to break the bank to get the street look

Tanabe DF's

I'm on the Tanabe DF springs but I also added 18mm RCA's to the front only. Hence the rake. The Tanabe's claim to lower the car 1.8" both front and rear. However, I felt like the front needed to come down slightly more to balance out the gap. So that's why I decided to do the RCA's only in the front for now.

Right after installing all this I felt the rake was too much and wanted to get rear RCA's. But it's grown on me. I may still do the rears eventually. But I am not in any hurry. It actually looks kinda mean in person.

I also got my wheels on Craigslist. My car needed new tires so I just kept tabs on a search for 5x114 on CL for a week or so. Some guy was selling these wheels with brand new tires (still had the hair on them) for $900.

So....yeah. It can be done on a budget.

EDIT: More evidence that you can do it on a budget: Right now there's someone here in Dallas selling a set of BMW M6 wheels (no tires) for $500 OBO. I bet you could walk away with them for $400. Run adapters or have them machined and you're good to go.

The only thing that sucks is the illest decal. Otherwise, the car looks clean and functional. Great addition to this thread.

Mk2tMr2, what kind of shocks are you running? Does the front rub at all with the extra drop of the 18mm RCA's?

Stock Sport Design shocks with 110k miles on them. The setup feels a bit soft. It is under-sprung and under-damped. But I get no rubbing at all. No fender mods.

Here's a couple camera phone shots of mine, waiting on a few parts before I try to take good pics.
