I only have 65,000 on my 99 but I had my one and only unscheduled service visit to replace the TPS Throttle Position Sensor at 60,000. It was a $500 parts and labor deal but they replaced it under warranty although my warranty had already expired.

104k miles on my 99 gs4 and Ive had 2 problems with it, one was the TPS that went bad ( but I guess this is a commen problem ). The other was the starter died on me, and it cost $1000 to replace the whole unit and they had to ship it from japan since no one in the states had one, the starter went out at around 96k miles

Simply amazing. Worst case right now is: 104K miles and $1,000 maintenance fee for something i would like to call an "accessory." If only bmw owners could be so lucky. My gs4 has been running so good it actually made me mad that I paid extra for extended warranty which I could not even use once.
I have 81,000 on my '99 GS3. I replaced the battery (Red Top) when the car cranked slowly after being left for a few days. (I cannot afford to get stranded.)
Lately, my door locks seem to click multiple times (more than twice to open the doors.) We'll see what this develops into. (My '91 Legend did this as well.)
So far the car is on a par with the Legend from a reliability standpoint.
