Question

I was washing my car today and was trying my best not too get soap water in my muffler. I have the greddy PE with the 4.5 " tips so its kinda hard too not get soap down in there.

Do you guys think the soap water can harm my muffler?

I guess next time i will put a rubber band with plastic bag over my tips.

Moisture in your muffler/tips is unavoidable. Whether you put water (soapy or not, no difference) in from the outside, or whether water gathers there naturally from condensation, over time that leads to the rust that eventually requires a muffler/pipe replacement. It's unavoidable. When you drive the car, the heat generated back there will dry it out. But in cooler humid weather, the condensation will form as soon as you shut her down and she cools off. Keeping her garaged or away from wet pavement/grass and the ocean is the only way to slow the inevitable.

Borla=Million Mile Warranty....hehe

If they are stainless steel you should be fine. It is kind of like the topic of whether or not to steam clean your engine bay...I wouldn't worry

Why do you and others refer to a car as female?

But it's a car, not a person.

I certainly don't think my GS is 'cute' or my 'baby' or anything like that.

LexusLady - do you see your car as a 'he'?

No, always referred to a car as "she".

The psychology goes back many years to when cars were a purely male domain. Men took care of, and spent money on their cars, like they would a woman. Men saw cars as "sensual", designers accentuating the fine lines of an automobile, and the sound of a fine motor is enough to give many a man chills. Not many men would like to admit to having that much love, and giving that much attention on another "male". Hence the automobile became a "she".

Make sense? And if your Lexus is not your "baby", you don't know what you're missing!!!

C.
