Default Rear window question??

Is there suppose to be power to the rear windows even when the key is out of the ignition? I have a battery drain problem and I was wondering because it doesnt matter how long my key been out wether 10 min or 20 the rear windows go up and down like they would if the key was in but my fronts don't do it with the key out. And if that's not normal for my rear windows to do that what would be probable cause of that, Thanks

My rears do not work with the key out.

Your doors have ecu's in them that control the windows.

How fast does your battery drain? You can simply pull the fuses for the power windows to see if it stops the battery drain.

Nope, no windows should ever work when the key is removed, Lexus or not. That sure would be handy for would-be thieves, wouldn't it?

Alright Ill have to check that out later to see whats causing it to keep power to the 2 rear windows. Ill start by pulling the fuse for the power windows

I believe that on our lexus, you can operate the windows for a couple of seconds after removing the key after engine shutoff. This is if none of the doors are opened.
I had the same feature on my 91 Accord.

They will work after the ignition has been turned off and even with the key removed, as long as you don't open a door. Once you open a door it should kill the power to those selected accessories. The ideal way to check for a parasitic draw would be to use an ammeter connected in series at the battery while you pull fuses to isolate which circuit has the issue. Once you find said circuit, then you would start disconnecting components on that circuit to see which one is your problem.

You're well on your way. You'll find it. Have fun.

believe it or not this may be related to your blower control problem. this car is multiplexed and one thing can affect the other. When you push on the window button your are sending a signal to your computer in the door (module in the door) and then the module sends the voltage to the window motor. You may want to find a guy with a scanner, how many other electrical things are not working correctly? can you list them?
