Default Help with OEM HID

My 2nd Gen GS 430 HID begins to exhibit sudden off issue. The issue is when I turn on the light both lights would turn on. Then about 3-5 min later, the Passenger side would turn off. If I turn off the light then turn back on, both will tun on then passenger side turns itself off. My question i:

1. Is this the problem with the ballast? If so, where is the location of the ballast.
2. If I need to replace the ballast, can I buy one of the aftermarket ballast for direct replacement or I will need to get one from Lexus?
3. If I buy the aftermarket, do I need to modify the wiring to match the OEM cable.

Thanks for the advice.

1. Dont know..You MUST diagnose. Under the headlights
2 &3. Not sure what your asking. But you need OEM, otherwise you will be splicing away.

My wife's car was doing that and i replaced the factory HID bulb and it no longer does it. I also thought it was my ballast.

Sounds like its the bulb. A way to test it would be disconnect and swap the bulbs and now if the other side is doing it then you know its definitely the bulb. GL

Swapping the bulb is the cheapest way to find out. Thanks....
