Default 3rd brake light in the back window

i'm wondering if anyone can tell me how the wiring is run on these? searching only brought up unrelated topics (more with lighting problems or cars have the 3rd brake light & the spoiler light).

basically, my car doesn't have a 3rd brake light in the back window. it only had the light in the spoiler. but since i took my spoiler off (since it was cracked & broken) i need to figure out a way to install a 3rd brake light.

i am actually going to install these LED units into a 3rd brake light housing (left over from my old Honda Accord), but i just don't know where or how to get the wiring from the trunk up into the interior part of the deck lid. seems like it's all sheet metal under the deck lid with no openings to access the interior.

can someone advise on where the wiring goes for cars equipped with the factory 3rd brake light in the window?

thanks in advance for any assistance.

When I removed the deck lid on my GS to pull out the blow ML sub I noticed a wire harness/clip at the back of the window not used. I would venture to say that this is what hooks into the factory brake light for the window. I have the spoiler with 3rd light. Most cars that have the option of either the spoiler or deck light have the wiring, but may not be used.

The wiring for the 3rd brake light is definitely under the rear deck. I used a brake light from a 7 series BMW. Here's the link to remove the rear deck.

It's not hard at all. Just follow the DIY and you will be good to go.
