Default leather on door

I have a 2000 gs 300 and I was wondering if any of you noticed that the leather on the door (the one that is the same color as the seats) is bunching up in some places?? Are your door leather door panels smooth?

If I understand what you're describing, it's designed that way. The leather on the door panel is not smooth, it has some ruffles in it. Perhaps you could snap and post a digital picture so we can see exactly what you mean?

I actually wish it was more ruffled, or entirely smooth. Just doesn't seem like they went far enough...

I could be wrong but I think it's 'ruffled' to 'hide' the side air bags.

It is a different color. It is set that way because it is for the Curtain Side Air bag. I also wish it all smooth, I don't like the ruffled look.

Default The leather on the door panel...

The style is called shirring....It is intentionally made to look like that. I personally do not like it and wish it was smooth.
Companies usually use this style to hide wrinkles or allow for some imperfections.
Thanks
MIKE

it can't be the side airbag coz' it's along the side of teh seat, not the door. i can't be the curtain airbat too coz' it's along the edge of the door frame, not the door. it's just there.... as it is
