Default Door Armrest Leather

I have a 1st world problem and was wondering if any other GS comrades here have the same issue or more of an expected outcome. I've attached a couple of photos below of my door armrest and noticed there are wrinkles and stretches which is obviously going to naturally occur with leather, but considering how soft this leather is and the amount of how heavy touched this area is, I can actually feel the leather "thin out" if that makes any sense in these particular spots (circled areas in red) more so than anywhere else in the door. Does anyone have this leather issue and seeing the same fold/wrinkles? Would this piece be something I can replace in a couple of years when it completely wears down or does the entire door panel need replacing if it ever comes to that? thx

This is fake leather bonded to foam. I ripped it off once off a door panel I picked parts from. That armrest had the same issue. The fake leather is paper thin, is made from some rubber product textured to look and feel like leather.
Those wrinkles are actually the fake leather separating/starting to separate from the foam backing, nothing can be done to fix it. This happens over time when you push against the armrest.

The dash also has the same fake leather.

This is what it looks like with the fake leather ripped off.
