Millennium Silver Metallic vs. Platinum Edition "Silver"
Hello all,
I'm shopping around for a Silver GS400 and ran into a Platinum edition model which was not quite as bright a silver than their traditional Millenium Silver Metallic. Also, it was not quite as dark as the Burnished Gold Metallic. Does anyone know if this was a special 2000 model year Platinum edition color?
Platinum edition cars came in a few colors (most notably black, white and silver)...I thought that the Plat Edition Silver was Millennium Silver. I know over the years there have been a few iterations of Silver (some different tinges of color added)

Correct. Platium edition is Millennium Silver.
This is a darker Silver staring with 2000 cars.
98 and 99 came in a more real silver.
hhhmmm. I had a Y2K GS400 Platinum Series. I thought mine was a darker Alpine Silver. I compared my color at the 1st Clun Lexus Meet at FBF. & mine appeared to be darker. I just got a new GS430 & the Millenium Silver on my new GS appears much lighter in color with more mettalic spec.chips in it. hhhmmmm OH well
I got a 2002 gs300 in silver and it was parked next to a pre owned Alpine silver. I was pisted I excepted mine to look like that silver. I mean I like my silver but I liked the alpine better. Why would they do that. In some light it looks taupeish (beige). I hate when people think thats the color of my car..
