Default Differences in 98-2002 Silvers?

I know 98-99's are Alpine silver which is more of a lighter silver right?
But is the 2000 silver the same as 98-99 or is it the milenium silver as the 2001's are?
Also is the 2002 silver the milenium silver also.

The reason for asking is I think I decided on getting a silver 2nd generation soon, I just want to pick the nicest looking silver, I just see this silver 2002 430 and I do not like the color of the car much, like it is a darker silver with like a hint of champagne in it, its kind of dull to me. I like the silver of 2000 platinum edition alot that I have been seeing but would like to buy at least a 2001 but if in 2000 is the silver I like I might have to settle for an older one.

If I am not mistaken, only 1998-1999 GS's have the 'alpine' silvers and starting in 2000 to present, they have the millinium silver. I am partial to the latter because I have the alpine silver . The alpine silver is more of a 'true' silver, but the millinium silver has grown on me. Looking at some of the members cars like bitkahuna and Mrsypher's, it really has grown on me.

Here's a pic of 2 silver GS's (from the right). The farthest on the right is 2001HiTechGS '01 GS3 (Millenium Silver), and next to it is SandRock's '98 GS3 (Alpine Silver). The difference between the two silver colors is pretty noticeable.

Default Silver

That helps a little, the difference is pretty noticable like I thought, I like the Alpine better, at least in the pic, the only thing is I need to know if in 2000 the color is still Alpine....anybody know for sure? I wanted an 2001 or newer but may just get a 2000 CPO if the milage is low.

Thats news to me, I never knew that, so you can have Millenium Silver and the old style tailights?

I guess if you think about it, it makes since Millenium silver avail for the y2k, eh?

I'm partial to Alpine myself, but if modded correctly the Millenium can be quite nice as well

Default Platimum Edition=Milenium Silver

I hope not cause I was contemplating the 2000 platinum edition cause I liked the interior a lot. Weird how nobody knows for sure. In that picture you can see a big difference but some of the 2001's like bitkahuna and Mrsypher's as someone stated, the silver looks good, doesn't look dull like some of the silvers I see. I guess I will just figure it out when I go lookin. Maybe I will go back to liking pearl white, but then there is a difference the in 98-2002 of those colors also aahhahahah. Thanks

Well I happen to have both silvers in my stable. Here's a pic to show the difference:

98-99 silver on the left, 2000+ silver on the right. I like the newer one a lot better. It's more of a true silver, the older one has a tinge of champagne/gold to it....

By the way, my car did come with the old style taillights, so I guess that puts to rest the question if mill.silver comes with old style taillights. But after you did the lights swap, no one's gonna know...sssshhh.

Default Now I am confused???

From the way jtanoyo1's cars look, what he is sayin the newer ones have more of a true silver and the picture shows that if he has his cars straight, ahahahh, I like the silver on the right better. Didn't think asking this question would confuse me more, guess when my a$$ decides to go for it I will find out what I like for myself in person...thanks

I've been told my mill silver looks "greenish". I guess there's a little tinge of mint green in there. Anyone agree? or is it time to visit dr.
