hope new to this side
just wanted to drop in here & say what's up. im coming over the the LS side of the boards. my wife has had an ES330 for a while & it was great to us, but she wanted something bigger. so we found her an LS430. it will stay pretty much stock since it is HER daily driver. but then her wanting a bigger car has made me have an itch.
so i actually sold my 98 4 door M3 today to start my search for a GS. i'd prefer the 400/430, but definitely not going to rule out the 300. just need to find the car in my budget.
so you all will start seeing this screen name around on this side a little more.
anything i should look out for while i search for my next car? or know of any place or anyone selling a car?

well, grammar might not be one of the things that i am bringing to the GS side.....the title should have read "hopefully". lol. i found the car i want.......and "hopefully" i can negotiate with the seller & purchase it.
Welcome to our side!! Hope you can pick up a clean one!
Let us know when you get it, but before you buy, ask the seller a few questions and obviously look around the car for rust and body/paint damage... 1. Have the lower ball joints and tie rods been replaced? 2. Have any of the bushings been replaced (mainly lower control arm #2, steering rack, and sway bar bushings)? 3. Has the timing belt, water pump, and thermostat been replaced? 4. Are there any clunks or pops when you drive? 5. Does the car thump or jump when you put it into gear (sign of worn motor and transmission mounts)? 6. Any vibrations on the highway (another sign of work mounts and/or bushings)?
I'm sure you would ask these questions anyways, but stress the ball joints, mounts, and bushings as people who do not have an enthusiastic relationship with their cars often overlook things like this and these are probably some of the most common issues that the GS has.

well, just to update....i am going to pick up my new to me car tomorrow morning. taking the trip up right outside philly from MD tomorrow morning. found an 01 GS430 with about 137k on the clock.
so i guess i can officially start trolling around here reading up on things. any words of wisdom?

yeah, i know that is becoming harder to find. but i'm happy with my car. got it back to my work & had my lead tech look over everything. seems to be ok. there are a couple things that will need to be fixed, but it is a 10 year old car with 137k miles on it, so it was to be expected.
just realized that i have never posted a picture of my car to make my joining this side "official", lol.
the day i picked it up

the 2nd day of ownership

at the dealer getting new keys......yes, that's a brand new ISF in the background.

just to update my thread, getting all the odds & ends fixed on the car. spoiler on this car has been a nightmare. the bracket rivets were loose when i bought it. ended up cutting out the rivets & drilling holes through the trunk lid to bolt it down, but then the plastic on the spoiler cracked & broke. so there are only 2 bolts holding it down. so i took it off until i could figure something out. but i think i like it better without the spoiler. so i have been searching for an inexpensive trunk lid without a spoiler.
my one wheel was in bad shape. it's like the clearcoat was removed & the finish was in bad shape. ended up using that wheel paint to paint them a graphite color.
