When I researched before I didn't really see anything for our models. Best thing to do is get a double din I believe.

Ughh. see thats what im trying to avoid, because with an aftermarket unit we lose everything sound wise. The use of the amps and sub and the whole shabangbang. I had a double din in one of my previous GS's and i had to rewire everything, add component speakers and amps and it all got annoying and i swore id never do it again. So i guess there is nothing for the 98-00 radio ??

I hear you that's why I'm putting off doing mine haha. All I've done is get a cassette adapter for mine. That suits me for now. I believe I got the Sony one from Wal-Mart and have been using it for almost a year and a half now and still works well.

You can use the Cleansweep from JL Audio or AudioControl. Search them up.

imo, best aux/mp3 is grom audio via bluetooth. too bad they dont have it for 98-00 GS. fm transmitter is next option? i bought a cheap $5 from amazon, works better than the name brand $20-30. till i switch to grom for the IS. i was in same boat, did not want to replace headunit and loose audio quality and deal with wiring/amp/speaker etc issue.

I did some extensive research on this and can say that short of re-doing the electricals, it will not work on these years' models.

Unless you've got mad EE skills, your best bet is an aux input from here:

I was going to recommend checking out factoryradioservice.com, aswell, a few members here have tried it and like it, so I hear.
