Default nav system dvd question

I found out from researching that to update my maps on my nav system from the 2001 streets to 2011, i just need to buy the 2011 update dvd. Does one dvd only work for one car or does someone have one I can borrow and pay them $20 to use and ship it back to them?

The update DVD has to stay in the Navigation drive to work. Once you update you can no longer use an older DVD in the drive.
