Default mark levinston audio system?

I guess this system came with my nav system and looks pretty cool with all the extra speakers and it looks like it has a subwoofer in the back, but when I turn it up using my ipod or playing the radio, it barely has any bass, which is weird considered it has a subwoofer, is there a way to turn the sub on or off or something?

Did you check you EQ settings on your headunit, if you did and still no bass.... Possible amp being blown or a blown sub. Amp is kinda pricey to replace but if your other speakers are working then chances are your amp is fine and your sub is cooked. There are many "aftermarket" replacements for the ML Subs that are affordable, or you can get a OEM replacement. Just use the search button for recommended aftermarket replacement, and how to replace the sub.

yeah I checked my eq settings and turned up the bass and all my speakers sound like they work, but I don't hear like crazy bass that u should with s subwoofer. I have a home 7.1 audio system and know what a sub is suppose to sound like, but also never owned or been in a car like this, so don't know what this system is suppose to sound like. Do u have this system? If so, does it bass pretty hard?

I did have the ML Package in my GS3, but I have since upgraded to something a little more powerful. The bass the ML system doesn't hit like an aftermarket sub would. So don't expect "crazy bass". If you want something that hits hard I would go with the aftermarket "free air" subs. Search these forums I believe there are several people who replaced the the ML sub with a compatable free air sub that worked with the ML amp.

ok, I feel embarassed now, but also very perplexed. here's the reason I didn't have any bass from the subwoofer. I opened the trunk after not hearing any sound from it, here's what I found:
so not only did the car come with the 6 disc cd cartridge gone, but the subwoofer was gone too? How weird, I wonder where I can find a stock mark levinston sub for the gs430?

I pulled out the ML sub because it was blown. I am running a Kenwoord 10' off the factory amp and am very pleased with the output.

^ Interesting,

Is there any aftermarket subs that will work with the factory amp? Pretty much just plug and play?

This is what I have in the car right now: Kicker Comp 07C108 10-Inch 8-Ohm Subwoofer

It's not directly plug n play exactly. Had to make and adapter ring using MDF to mount the sub in the stock location. Fairly easy if you are mechanically inclined.

Sorry to hear that. You could always just ordered the ML from the dealer, but to be honest it's not worth the money. Besides the Kicker only cost me $49 and about an hour to remove the backseat, deck lid and mock up the MDF.

wow that's cheap. Maybe u could provide a tutorial with pics on how u did it for people like me. I would greatly appreciate it and I can tell from searching about ML sub replacements on this forum, that lots of people want aftermarket subs. I don't know what the original one sounds like so I have no frame of reference, but if your sounds great, i'll take your word for it. Anything is better than have no sub at all like me =)

Or better yet, if you could just pre-fab the MDF and send it to us less inclined folks, that would be great . I went to a local car audio place over the weekend and they quoted me $300-400 to replace the sub and to build a box for it as they didn't have any free-air subs. Don't know about you, but I am not ready to spend that kind of cash for a replacement sub.

Turns out the amp that I have isn't the ML some small *** one. Doesn't even mount up to the car correctly.
