Default Wood steering wheel..

I was looking for a DYI on replacing the stock 98 leather to a stock 98 wood steering wheel. But I couldn't find one. I swear I've seen one before - describing that 01+ wood steering wheel doesn't fit the airbag. And that the RX300 one would fit. Did so many searches. Keep coming up empty. Even this page doesn't have it:

Can anyone help?

Depends on what car you have. If you have a 98 GS300 you can get a wood wheel from a 01-03 RX, 01-05 GS430 or the newer SC's . You will also need to get the airbag cover off the newer wheel since the one on the 98-00 wheels won't fit. The igniter on your wheel now will bolt on to the new airbag cover so you won't need a new one. If you have a GS400 then you will need a wood wheel with the e-shift buttons and those wood wheels were only offered on the 01-05 GS300 sports designs and are almost impossible to find.

A 2001+ wood wheel without eshift buttons, and add the paddle shifters from an IS350 and the RX airbag may be a possibility, tmf2004 is doing this project on his car and I'm waiting patiently to see how the results turn out before deciding how to proceed....

alternatively you can send in your current wheel with a wood sample to this company and they can do it for you. It'll cost about $500. I haven't done it but I know a couple of people who've done it for their acura legends and it's turned out well.

I never new anyone could do that. I like this option, if its cheaper then a rx steering wheel. How much do Rx steering wheel.s sell for?
